View of river where Hankridge lake joins

Nearly impossible to imagine the above 3 photos were taken from the same area (although to be completely truthful I would have needed a deep sea diving suit to take the last 2 from the exact spot). In the first you can see on the right the footpath continuing on its way to Ruishton but its under water in the next 2.

Anyway these are from the footpath just before it crosses the river/lake junction near Macdonalds. The dates were 22 May, 8 December and 15 January.

View towards Macdonalds

The above 3 photos were taken from the footpath where the footbridge normally crosses the docile outlet from the lake to the river. The first was on 9 December with the other 2 on 15 January. To my consternation I can't find I have a view showing the norm!

View from Macdonalds end.

The above are views from the Macdonalds end of the path looking back over Hankridge pond towards Bathpool.

The first was taken on 22 May 2007 with the others on 9 December, 10 December and 15 January. This is part of my normal daily walk to get my paper from Sainsbury's ~ no prizes for guessing a slight detour required today!

View towards Motorway

The above three pictures were taken looking away from Bathpool road bridge in the direction of the M5. The first on 22 May 2007 was from the road and shows the normal river level after a dry spell. The second on 9 December 2007 was from the lower footpath bridge with the third on 15 January 2008 again from the road. The river level must be over 15 feet higher.

View from Bathpool Road Bridge

The above photographs were taken from Bathpool road bridge looking towards Taunton.

The first was taken on 16 June 2007 and surprisingly there appears to be a little sun which contradicts all who claimed it never shone last summer!

The second was taken on 9 December 2007 after a couple of very wet days with number 3 the next day showing an appreciable drop in level.

Number 4 was taken today (15 January 2008).
